GRIGG, Garry Wallace
GRIGG, Garry Wallace
It is with profound sadness that we announce that Garry Wallace Grigg passed away at the age of 80 on May 30, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
Garry is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia; his daughter Jolene and daughter Jennifer (Glen); grandson Austin (Natasha), and his granddaughter Sydney; and his great-grandson Harrison Kai. He is also survived by his sisters Mona Carter-Squire, Heather (Wayne) LaFournie, and Denise Grigg, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Garry was predeceased by his parents Wallace and Hilda Grigg; sister Joan Turner and baby brother Lance Grigg; brothers-in-law Wayne Boles and Duane Carter-Squire; and nephews Jeff and John Carter-Squire.
Garry was born in Souris, Manitoba and raised in Brandon, Manitoba. He moved his family to Kelowna in 1978, where he was in the painting and construction trade before purchasing Springfield Autobody, where he worked with his daughter Jolene before retiring.
Garry loved his family and was very proud of his daughters and devoted to his grandchildren. He was a very generous man who would help anyone. His passion was renovating and decorating and having coffee with friends. He loved travelling to Mexico and Arizona.
We wish to thank the staff at Hospice House for their care and compassion.
There will be a private family gathering later this summer.
To my dear family and friends:
Don't remember me with sadness,
Don't remember me with tears,
Remember me with laughter,
Remember all the laughter we've shared throughout the years,
Now I am contented that my life was worthwhile,
Knowing that as I passed along the way, I made someone smile,
When you are walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind,
I'm walking in your footsteps, only half a step behind.
So please don't be unhappy just because I'm out of sight,
Remember that I'm with you each morning, noon, and night.
